TextExhibit for Android
Android App Support
TextExhibit for Android converts text message conversations into PDFs directly on your phone. This page is provided for Android app support and does not link to desktop product purchase pages or third-party checkout pages.
Generate PDFs of your text message conversations directly on your Android phone — no backup files, no desktop app, and no computer required.
Free Trial & Unlocking
The Android app starts in free trial mode with watermarks, redacted text messages, and a limit of 3 exports. To unlock full capabilities, use the in-app purchase flow provided by Google Play inside the Android app. This is a one-time purchase that permanently removes all limitations.
Data Privacy
TextExhibit for Android processes message content locally on your device. Message content, contact names, phone numbers, generated PDFs, and exported media are not uploaded to TextExhibit servers.
Read the Android-specific privacy policy: TextExhibit Android Privacy Policy.
Check the FAQ First
Most Android app questions are answered in the FAQ, including missing RCS messages, exported videos, device serial numbers, trial limits, Bates numbering, and hash reports.
Support
If the FAQ does not answer your question, email support@textexhibit.com and include:
- Your Android device model

User Guide
Step 1: Grant Permissions
When you first open the app, it will ask for permission to access your text messages. Grant the requested permissions and wait for the app to load your conversations.
Step 2: Select Conversations
Select the conversation(s) you want to export to PDFs from the list, then tap “Configure Export”.
Step 3: Set Display Names
If you want display names to appear differently than the names in your Contacts app, you can modify them here. This is cosmetic only — it will not change the contact names on your phone.
Step 4: Set Date Range (Optional)
If you only need messages from a specific time period, set a date range to limit the export. Otherwise, all messages in the selected conversations will be included.
Step 5: Add Device Info (Optional)
You can include your device name and serial number in the footer of every page of the PDF. To find your serial number:
- Tap “Find in Settings” — this opens your phone’s About settings
- Scroll down and tap Model
- Long press on Serial Number and tap Copy
- Go back to the TextExhibit app and paste it into the Serial Number text box
Step 6: Choose Output Folder
Tap “Choose…” to pick an output folder on your device where the PDFs will be saved.
You are free to uninstall the app when finished and keep your finished exports. The output folder you choose is independent of the app — your PDFs stay on your device even if the app is removed.
Step 7: Export
Tap “Export” and wait for the process to complete.
For large exports, you can grant the notifications permission and then go back to using other apps while the export finishes. You’ll receive a notification when it is complete.
Step 8: View & Share Your PDFs
Once the export finishes:
- Tap “Open Folder” to view the generated PDFs directly on your device
- Tap “Share to Drive” to share a single
.zipfile containing all generated PDFs and extracted media to Google Drive or other destinations. If your legal team sent you a link to a private SharePoint folder you can simply upload this single.zipfile.
